    Dear Stavros,

Hi Stavros! After I read about you I was so interested to hear more things about Greece. I just really wonder why do you keep goats on our farm instead of other farm animals? When goat cheese is being made, how do you make it from a goat when it is still alive? I read that your favorite hero is Hercules. My favorite heroes are my mom and dad. On all holidays, do you go to the beach or go to different places during a holiday? I have the same number of siblings as you and that is something that we have in common.

The differences between Greece and the United States is that instead of eating tomato salad we eat fruit salad. We eat fruit salad, potato salad , and tuna salad. I don't eat goat cheese. I eat American cheese.

  2. Jamiyl,

Goat cheese is made from the goats milk. Other dairy products are made from cow's milk. Are cow's killed in order to make dairy products, like American cheese?

Goat milk and cow's milk come from the animal and is then processed to make all the dairy things that we can find in food stores.

  3. Dear Stavros,

Hi, I live in the United States and I live by big buildings. I have 4 brothers and no sisters. I also cheer for teams but not for soccer. I don't play in the sand. I go in the water and swim if I go to the beach. I love to watch t.v. I never tried goat cheese.

I learned that Europe is the second smallest continent. You also have the second largest population.

It seems like the United States and Greece are really different. Do you really like goat cheese. It really sounds terrible.

    Sincerely,

    Joshua

  4. Dear Stavros,

We are way different! I live in an apartment. An apartment is a building with 2 or more floors with a few apartments and has seperate entrances.

We get our cheese from cows. We call our cheese American cheese.

Every morning I do to school and do math and literacy.

I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. I watch tv when I get home. My favorite tv show is Family Guy. We have salad ribs and chicken on holidays.

Stavros, do you know anything about Europe? I can tell you. Well America is like Europe. We copied from you like blue jeans, baseball, and probably soccer. Did you know a guy named Hitler is WW II took over most of Europe because he said it was the Jewish people's fault that there was so many problems. Stavros, did you know that Europe has the largest population? Have you ever heard of the Grimm brothers? Well, they were the ones who made your fairy tales that your teacher probably tells you. Stavros I want to know more about Greece.

    Sincerely,
    Christopher P

  5. Chris,

I am glad that you are so interested in learning about Europe.

You have learned some new things and I am glad to see that you want to share the things that you learned with others.

About the cheese, we get cheese from cows but not all cheese is called American cheese. You should try some new cheeses sometimes.

  6. Dear Stavros,

Here in the United States we are surrounded by cars and restaurants that have really good service. Just like you we go to school but our teacher reads a book sometimes but not all the time. I have 1 younger brother and 1 older sister, which means that I am the middle child. We keep up with the latest technology including things like t.v. and radio. For holidays we celebrate with our families just like you. My class knows a lot about Europe. We know that the WW II went on in Europe and Hitler went all around the country of Germany. If the people weren't 100% German they would send them to concentration camps and kill them. Europe is the second smallest continent but has the second largest population. I hope to go to Europe someday to go site seeing and learn more history about it.

    Your friend,

    Nadiyah

  7. Dear Stavros,

I live in the city. The city is very busy with cars and buses. We don't have farms or villages in the city. We all sometimes go to the beach but in the winter we don't. In the winter it's really really cold. But in the summer it can be really hot.

In the winter the temperature could go down to below zero. Today it's 22 degrees farinheit. In the summer the degrees could be 90-100 degrees. Isn't that hot? For instance, I rememeber one time that it was 95 degrees and many people had to go to the beach to cool off.

We all watch t.v. and also cheer for our favorite team. We all watch sports but the most famous sports are football, baseball, and basketball.

    Sincerely,

    Donte

  8. Dear Stavros,

You have a very interesting way of living. I wish I could live like you. Do you like raising goats? What grade are you in? What is your favorite sport? My favorite sport is soccer. What about your family, are they fun?

Wow Stavros it is cool that you live in Europe. Is it cool there? What is the temperature in Greece in the winter and summer. Here in Newark, New Jersey in the summer time we can get up to 100 degrees. I spend my summer doing work with my mother and sometimes visiting my father in Florida. How do you spend your summer?

Do you live in a huge village or a small one? Do you like living in a village? If you ever want to come visit Newark and the city, I warn you to be prepared. There are a lot of things that you need to know. Lastly, I hope you write back someday because you sound very interesting! Bye!

    Sincerely,

    Crystal

  9. Crystal,

I am glad that you found so many interesting things to write to Stavros about.
If he was to come to Newark, what kinds of things would you tell him before coming, what would you show him when he gets here?

  10. Dear Stavros,

You live in a village and in the mountains. I live in a city. I see that you make your own cheese. We buy cheese from a store. I go to a school too and we have a beach near our city.

My city is near water but my house isn't. We live in the center of my city. Do you live on a farm or in a city? Maybe in a village? Do you plnat your own food or buy it from a supermarket? Everybody in my city buys everything like valuables and clothing, even furniture. Do you have any of these things?

    Sincerely,
    Michael M

  11. Dear Stavros,

Hi Stavros, I'm Destiny and I live near supermarkets and some more houses. I am 11 years old and I go swimming in my after school program. We can not go outside beacuse the water but if it was summer I will go outside and swim. I do go to school and I go to Camden Middle and it is a very good school. I is a very good school and it teaches you a lot. That's why we get smarter everyday. After I go home and I do my homework and talk to my mother, she is very nice. On the holidays, like Christmas, my mom cooks a lot of food and we open up our gifts and then we have a lot of fun.

    Sincerely,

    Destiny
